Dear Parents,

     Welcome to second grade. We are looking forward to working with you and your child and having a very successful year in second grade. This is a big year for reading and for math. They become much more independent learners and will have the ability to expand in all areas. This is the first year for an assignment pad. Check it daily and keep in touch with your child's teacher either by writing in the pad or emailing. Those are the most efficient methods of communication. The amount of homework will be more. Keep on top of your child and see what is due the next day.

     If you are concerned or have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact us. Please send with your child to school within the first week the following items:

1 pocket folder for homework

A supply of glue sticks to use during the school year

Extra pencils

Optional items include:

Extra crayons (limit box of 24)

Child's scissors

Box of tissues to help our class supply

Water bottle with name on it

1 box of small Ziploc bags
